Writing · Commas
Rewrite each sentence, adding a comma before the tag question. Type your answer and click Check Answer. Straight (‘) and curly (’) apostrophes are both accepted.
About This Rule
- A tag question is a short question added to the end of a statement, such as isn’t it?, doesn’t it? or can’t it?
- Always put a comma between the statement and the tag: Yoga helps reduce stress, doesn’t it?
- The tag uses the same auxiliary verb as the statement (or do/does if there is none), and a positive statement takes a negative tag.
